In 2026, almost 84 million BYN was allocated to organize summer holidays for schoolchildren in Belarus

In Belarus, the preservation and strengthening of the health of the younger generation remains a key priority of the state social policy. In 2026, about 84 million BYN was allocated from the state budget for the preparation and conduct of the summer health campaign (11 million BYN more than in 2025). On September 24, Deputy Director of the Republican Center for Health Improvement and Sanatorium-Resort Treatment of the Population Alexander Tsai told reporters, the correspondent of the Minsk-Novosti agency reports.

According to the speaker, of the total amount of 82 million 300 thousand BYN was used for subsidies and cheaper vouchers (to children's camps), 900 thousand BYN for the purchase of free vouchers for children eligible for benefits, and 700 thousand BYN for the preparation of camps for the summer season.

Ah. Tsai noted that local authorities made a significant financial contribution to the organization of the summer health campaign for schoolchildren. Thus, the regional executive committees and the Minsk City Executive Committee have allocated more than 12 million BYN for this purpose. In particular, over 3 million BYN was sent by the Brest Regional Executive Committee, and the Minsk City Executive Committee – 2.5 million BYN.

- We can state that the summer health campaign was held without emergencies and incidents, Tsai said. To do this, all interested services made every effort and demonstrated the highest degree of responsibility. Importantly, this summer season was marked by a historical record - the demand from parents for vouchers was significantly higher than last year's level.

The Deputy Director of the Republican Center for Health Improvement and Sanatorium-Resort Treatment drew attention to the fact that this year the main focus of the organizers was on the development of suburban rehabilitation. In particular, more than 32 million BYN were invested in strengthening the material and technical base of children's camps. And to meet the needs of all comers, more than 5,800 camps (country and day stay) worked in the republic in the summer.

- For the first time in the last 10 years, the total number of recovered children amounted to almost 404 thousand, Tsai added. Of these, 235,400 children rested in day camps and 168,400 minors were rehabilitated in round-the-clock camps.
