In Belarus, four couriers of telephone fraudsters were detained for a day

Over the past day, the Belarusian police received more than 200 applications about phone calls scammers. Thanks to the efficiency of law enforcement officers and the vigilance of citizens, the vast majority of atrocities were prevented, the correspondent of the Minsk-Novosti agency reports with reference to the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Employees of the department of processing fraudulent transactions initiated the blocking of 13 phishing Internet resources – fake trading platforms, banks or services indistinguishable from real ones. The possibility of payments to 25 foreign details used by attackers has been blocked, and expenditure operations on 59 accounts have been suspended. In addition, the operatives detained four couriers working in the interests of scammers.

However, 19 crimes involving the use of information and communication technologies were recorded.

Most often, fraudsters deceive citizens when buying goods on the Internet, as well as presenting themselves by phone as officials. Such schemes as theft through social networks, trading on financial exchanges and renting housing are also common.
