BSU held a ceremony to honor journalists on the occasion of the 105th anniversary of the founding of the university

Journalism today plays a key role in modern society, especially when it comes to finding the truth, informing citizens and maintaining transparency. Thanks to the mass media, our citizens have the opportunity to receive prompt and reliable information about the life of the Belarusian State University. Rector of BSU Andrey Korol said this during a solemn reception of journalists of the republican media on the occasion of the 105th anniversary of the Belarusian State University, sb.by correspondent reports.

Addressing the audience, Andrey Korol noted that today’s event is almost the finish line in a series of events dedicated to the celebration of the 105th anniversary of the Belarusian State University.

- As for the university itself, it is enough to look at the graduates who are represented in a variety of fields and industries. These are outstanding scientists, and public, statesmen. Of course, without the external communicative side of life, everyone would have a relatively distorted view of the Belarusian State University. Therefore, I would like to express my special gratitude to the representatives of the mass media present today, first of all, for being the guides who really reflect the essence of the Belarusian State University, as well as for representing the reality that people see, that they can feel, appreciate and realize. You are fulfilling a high mission, your voice today sounds loud and far beyond the borders of the country. Words of special gratitude to all the media for what you hear and support us, help to convey to the population information about what BSU lives today.

As part of the reception, a ceremony was held to honor journalists on the occasion of the 105th anniversary of the founding of the university. Among the awardees are journalists of the publishing house “Belarus Today”: columnist of the department of social problems Taisiya Azanovich, deputy editor of the department of youth and educational policy of the editorial office of the newspaper “Banner of Youth” Victoria Derzhanovich, correspondent of the special department of agrarian economy of the editorial office of the newspaper “Rural newspaper” Sergey Grudnitsky, correspondent of the special department of political information Anastasia Tselyuk.
