In Brest from October 12 will start to include heating

The heating season in Brest starts on October 12 – next week the heat will be supplied to social facilities and housing. This was told to journalists by the General Director of KUMPE “Brest city housing” Andrey Gashev, BelTA reports.

Brest City Executive Committee decided to start the heating season - it starts from next Monday. Earlier, on October 6, the regional executive committee sent letters to city and district executive committees with a recommendation to launch the heating period. Local authorities decide to turn on the heating, focusing on the weather forecast.

Priority of connection

At the first stage, heat is supplied to social facilities: kindergartens, schools, hospitals, medical and preventive and medical institutions, social security institutions, specialized educational and sports institutions, museums, state archives, libraries and hotels. Then the housing stock is connected, and then the rest of the consumers.

Andrei Gashev said that the first line of consumers are social institutions, kindergartens, hospitals and schools. The second stage, according to him, will begin next week, and the third will connect other consumers.

Timing and technical limitations

The general director of the city housing and communal services noted that specialists will try to speed up the process of connecting the social sphere. In Brest 49 heat sources, 29 of which provide heat to the housing stock. The connection is made in stages: firstly, due to the temperature of the outside air, and secondly, due to the inability to simultaneously connect all consumers due to heavy loads on heat sources. According to him, the housing fund is planned to be connected taking into account weather conditions – with a decrease in temperature and average daily indicators. According to Gashev, the heat in the house should go approximately on Tuesday or Wednesday.

Preparations for winter

Preparations for the autumn-winter period in Brest began in the spring. It involved utilities and energy. One of the key stages is the relaying of heating pipes: in the off-season, 20 kilometers of networks were replaced with pre-insulated pipes. Reconstruction of boiler houses, replacement of smoke pipes and preventive repairs of heat sources were also carried out. This year, 28 residential buildings were overhauled, including the replacement of heating systems.
