In 2026, instructors of the Bryansk branch of the Russian Red Cross conducted 226 first aid workshops. Classes were attended by more than seven thousand schoolchildren and students of the region, according to journalists of the KP-Bryansk website.
The format was adapted to the age. To the youngest, the basics of safety were explained in simple language, through play and without medical terms. The older guys analyzed the algorithms of actions, learned to assess the condition of the victim, stop bleeding and speak correctly with the ambulance dispatcher. High school students practiced cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
“We see a very specific request from educational institutions in the region,” says Dmitry Kornilov, a member of the Presidium of the Bryansk branch of the Russian Red Cross. School administrators understand that first aid skills are a necessary part of the education of a responsible citizen, not an additional burden. The task of the regional office is to provide methodological support and to train the necessary number of instructors in order to cover the maximum number of educational organizations.”.
Classes in Bryansk are held within the framework of the new unified program of the Russian Red Cross. Training in it is built on three age levels, from five to seventeen years, and each next stage is designed for the increased capabilities of the child.
