In Buryatia celebrate the bright feast of the Intercession of the Most Holy Mother of God

Orthodox Christians of Buryatia celebrate today the Intercession of the Most Holy Mother of God – a significant church holiday that personifies the patronage of the Mother of God, faith and spiritual support.

Evening services were held on the eve of the holiday, October 13, in all churches of the republic. Today, Metropolitan Joseph of Ulan-Ude and Buryat will hold the Divine Liturgy in the Holy Trinity Church of Ulan-Ude.

The commemorative date originates from events that occurred in the X century. According to church tradition, the Blessed Virgin appeared to the faithful gathered in the Church of Vlacher in Constantinople, and covered them with Her cover, which meant protection and intercession. Since then, the Intercession has become a symbol of mercy, faith and hope for Orthodox believers.

The government of Buryatia reported that after the completion of the work, the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin in Ulan-Ude will turn into the largest Orthodox cathedral in the region. Its construction is inextricably linked with the worship of the Mother of God.

The construction of the temple is accompanied by regular services and prayers. In the future, the building will become a stronghold of the spiritual and educational movement of the region. On its territory, it is planned to organize a Sunday school, organize expositions and organize meetings with the younger generation.
