In Buryatia, the Prosecutor’s office helped a veteran who lost documents in battle

In the Kyakhta district of Buryatia, the prosecutor’s office provided the status of a combat veteran for a participant in a special military operation.

As reported in the Prosecutor’s office of the Republic, it was established that the serviceman was in the area of the SVO and took part in hostilities in the period from January to July 2023. Documentation confirming his participation was lost in the course of combat missions.

Considering that the status of a combat veteran confers the right to various support measures, the district prosecutor’s office conducted an appropriate check. During the inspection, evidence was collected confirming the participation of a serviceman in hostilities. To protect the social rights of this citizen, the prosecutor appealed to the court with a statement of claim, demanding to establish the legal fact of the man’s participation in the special operation.

The court fully satisfied the prosecutor's claims. The soldier received a certificate of a combat veteran.
