In mid-August 2026, a resident of the Black Sea region herds cattle in a field near the village of Vnukovo. There he discovered a wild hemp bush.
The man cut several branches with leaves from him and transferred them to an outbuilding to dry. According to the court, he kept the drug for personal use, without the purpose of sale.
The actions were qualified under part 1 of Article 228 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation - the illegal acquisition and storage of parts of plants containing narcotic drugs in a significant amount. The court imposed a sentence of one year of suspended imprisonment with probation for the same period.
Recall that in the Crimea are regularly sentenced for illegal trafficking in cannabis. In early November 2026, a man was convicted in Kerch for organizing a hangout for drug addicts and growing cannabis: he bought seeds at the Central Market, planted them at home and provided housing for three friends for drug use.
At the same time, in November 2026, a man was sentenced in Feodosia for growing 90 hemp bushes. These cases show that the courts in the region hear cases related to cannabis and impose sentences, including suspended sentences.
