The Genic Museum hosted a master class on painting ceramics for children of participants in a special military operation. The program united creative and educational blocks: young participants got acquainted with the traditions of ancient masters and symbols of ornaments, independently painted ceramic vases, and also tried themselves in imitating archaeological excavations.
According to Alyona Izmayeva, deputy head of the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation branch in the Kherson region, the purpose of the event is not only to organize children’s leisure, but also to help them feel connected with the history of their native land, and families to unite. At the end of the meeting, a tea party was organized for the children.
One of the participants, Kolya, the son of a veteran of the SVO, shared his impressions: he especially liked that he first told why jars were used before and why they were painted, and then gave the opportunity to take clay blanks and paint them.
The game room, where the master class took place, appeared thanks to the supervision of the museum-reserve “Phanagoria”. The branch of the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation and the museum agreed to hold a series of similar educational and creative classes, so painting ceramics was only the beginning.
