Federal prosecutors accuse the defendants of creating a criminal community, especially large-scale tax evasion and forgery of documents as part of an organized group, and the total damage is estimated at about 10 million euros. The main defendant is 61-year-old Peter Fitzek, who proclaimed himself head of the entity in 2012; at the beginning of the hearing, he disputed his identity, calling himself head of state.
According to the prosecutor’s office, the purpose of the activity was the destruction of the existing law and order through quasi-state structures, including their own passport service, registration and currency, and the financing was due to paid seminars, donations in gold, money and land and promises to companies of tax benefits. Payments within the organization were issued as charitable donations without taxes and social contributions, the budget of Germany lost about 400 thousand euros, and documents of a non-existent country were issued to 6.3 thousand people with a core of 40-60 people.
In addition to Fitzek, his deputies Benjamin M. and Martin S., as well as Mathias B., who was in charge of finance and registration, face up to 10 years in prison, 52 court days are allocated for the case, the hearings will last until September 2027.
