In the hinterland of the Arkhangelsk region illegally produced ammunition

In the Verkhnetoemsky district, police found illegal production of ammunition. This was stated by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Arkhangelsk region.

During operational measures, the criminal investigation officers of the Verkhnetoemsk police department, which is part of the inter-municipal police department Krasnoborsky, found in the apartment of a 46-year-old man from a local village more than 70 rounds of 16-caliber for a smoothbore gun. The owner does not have a permit to carry and store weapons.

The ammunition was seized and sent for examination. Specialists of the Expert and Forensic Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs found that 54 of them were made by handicraft method and 50 are suitable for shooting. The rest of the cartridges are made in production.

According to the suspect, he received ammunition, shells and gunpowder from his father, who was a hunter. The man claims that in the fall of 2025, he equipped his cartridges with gunpowder to go hunting with friends who have a gun permit.

On the fact of illegal production of ammunition opened a criminal case under article 223 of the criminal code of the Russian Federation. The maximum penalty under this article is six years imprisonment. An investigation is under way.
