In the Ilyinsky district considered gray cranes

Ornithologists before the flight recorded 13 thousand birds.

Information on the number of birds prepared by the head of the Union of bird protection of Russia Vladimir Melnikov.

He spoke not only about the number of gray cranes, which are currently in a pre-flight state, but also stressed that the current figures are inferior to the data of previous seasons, when there were up to 18 thousand individuals within the borders of the Ilyinsky district of the Ivanovo region.

The expert noted that birds usually begin their flight to wintering places from late September to early October. Migratory birds travel vast distances to find warmer climates and affordable food. Most often, gray cranes winter in North and East Africa, the countries of the Middle East, China, India.
