In Ivanovo will develop measures against false fire alarms

In the administration of Ivanov held a meeting of the Commission on prevention and liquidation of emergency situations and fire safety. One of the main topics was the reduction of the number of false fire alarms in urban institutions and organizations.

The head of the department of supervision and preventive work Ivan Penkov said that since the beginning of 2026, 1,619 false positives have been registered in the regional center. This is 54.4% of the total number of such cases in the Ivanovo region.

Among the established reasons are steam during cooking, burnt products, repair work, dust entering fire detectors and features of the operation of the premises. In 671 cases, the cause could not be established, another 166 positives were associated with equipment malfunction. Most often, false signals came from schools, hospitals, nursing homes, hotels and hostels.

Following the meeting, the commission participants identified several areas of further work. It is planned to improve the recording of the alarms and find out the causes of each incident, to strengthen control over the technical condition of fire alarm systems and their maintenance. Special attention will be paid to compliance with safety requirements during construction and repair works, as well as elimination of faults that cause repeated alarms.
