In Ivanovo school opened an experimental study “Keepers of history”

In school No. 18 of the city of Ivanovo, a new study room “Keepers of history” began to work. Here students will be able not only to study the past from books, but also to independently engage in research and media projects.

At the disposal of students there were modern video cameras to create documentaries and reports about their native land. A quadcopter is provided for aerial photography and research tasks. In addition to equipment, books, photographs and samples of weapons are collected in the office, which will help to get more acquainted with historical events.

Acting Director of the school Maria Ryzhenkova said that the institution plans to organize excursions, trips, research projects and visits to archives for children. Students will also be able to participate in grant competitions.

The project is implemented by the Russian Military Historical Society together with the city authorities with the support of deputies. School No. 18 has become an experimental space. If the initiative develops successfully, similar spaces will appear in other educational institutions of Ivanov.

Chairman of the City Duma Alexander Kuzmichev stressed the importance of preserving the historical truth and the participation of teachers and public organizations in the patriotic education of the younger generation.
