In Izhevsk, an aromatic candle almost caused a fire

The incident occurred on September 13 at about 23:30 in a two-bedroom apartment located on the first floor of a seventeen-storey building on the 8th Podlesnaya street. The source of the fire was in the bedroom. At that moment, a married couple aged 58, who arrived in Izhevsk from another region and rented this room for a day, was in the house.

The woman said that there was a foreign smell in the room, so she decided to use an aromatic candle, placing it on the floor near the bed, and then went to the bathroom. At that time, her husband was sleeping on the bed.

According to him, he woke up because of the sharp smell of smoke and saw that the bed linen began to smolder. Thanks to the quick actions of the man, serious consequences were avoided: he threw burning sheets and a mattress through the window, which prevented the fire from spreading to the entire apartment.
