According to V. Solodoukho, in specialized classes, high school students study the basics of pedagogy and psychology in depth, which allows them to make an informed choice when entering universities. Future experts are trained at the Institute of Psychology of BSPU. The training program is based on disciplines aimed at preserving the mental health of the population.
- Students master medical and inclusive psychology (to work with children with psychophysical development), the basics of counseling and psychiatry, said V. Solodoukho. Future specialists begin to practice from the first year in various organizations of the country.
The expert stressed that psychologists – graduates of BSPU are in demand in the education system, in HR departments of enterprises and recruitment agencies, in family support centers. In addition, they work in crisis centers and structures of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
Speaking about international cooperation, V. Solodoukho cited the example of a joint educational program with Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University. It aims to train experts in clinical psychology.
- This academic year will see the first graduation of such specialists who will be able to work in Belarusian healthcare institutions, explained V. Solodoukho.
