In Kaliningrad, there were fewer accidents involving pedestrians. This was told in the city hall.

As of September 1, this year, the number of collisions on pedestrians decreased by 15%, and accidents at crossings - by 31%. Changes are especially noticeable at regulated crossings: there the number of accidents decreased by 44%, and the number of victims by 50%.

The city administration associates this with a set of measures to improve security: the installation of new traffic lights, setting up their modes of operation and the introduction of modern solutions. For example, 100 intersections already have an extra phase for pedestrians, which gives them another five seconds to cross the road.

Until October, they plan to change the work of traffic lights at seven more intersections, including on the streets of Gorky, Alexander Nevsky and Engineering.

Earlier we wrote that in Kaliningrad, a 102-year-old veteran came to the station and read a poem.
