In Kaliningrad, a drunken night guest stole a BMW from a sleeping friend

In Pioneersky police detained a 34-year-old man who was driving someone else’s car in a state of intoxication. It turned out that he stole the car from his friend. This was reported in the MIA of Russia in the Kaliningrad region.

The police received information from vigilant citizens. Eyewitnesses reported that behind the wheel of the BMW is a drunk man. Precinct commissioners quickly established the location of the foreign car – the car was stopped by inspectors of the State Traffic Inspectorate in the village of Rybnoye. The driver refused to undergo a medical examination, an administrative report was drawn up in respect of him.

Further investigation revealed that the detainee was not the owner of the vehicle. The day before, the man drank alcohol at a visit from a 40-year-old acquaintance. He repeatedly asked a friend to borrow a car, but he refused because of the obvious state of intoxication of the guest. After waiting for the owner to fall asleep, the attacker pulled the keys out of his jacket pocket and drove away.

The vehicle and keys were seized by police. A criminal case has been opened against the suspect. The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment for up to five years.
