In Kaliningrad on October 9, schoolchildren and pupils of kindergartens will be able to stay home due to bad weather. City authorities have introduced free access to educational institutions amid the expected storm wind.

The press service of the administration explained that parents can decide whether to leave the child at home. Absence due to adverse weather conditions will be considered a valid reason.

According to forecasts, wind gusts in the region can reach 25-27 meters per second. With such force, the element is able to break tree branches, damage roofs and tear down advertising structures, as well as other poorly fixed objects.
