A Buddhist school started in Elista. This academic year, 34 students from the capital's schools enrolled in the course.

A Buddhist school started in Elista. This academic year, 34 students from the capital's schools enrolled in the course.

The educational platform unites schoolchildren who are interested in spiritual and moral values, history and culture of their native land. The programme includes three areas:

“Buddhist philosophy” (teacher – Geshe Tenzin Choidak, Shajin Lama of Kalmykia), “National writing Todo Bichik” (A. Adjaeva, teacher of Kalmyk language and literature), “History of culture of the native land” (S. Namysov, teacher of history).

Classes are held every Thursday from 16 to 18 hours on the basis of Kalmyk National Gymnasium named after A.Sh. Kichikov.
