On October 9, a meeting dedicated to the 140th anniversary of Nomto Ochirov will be held at the N. D. Sanjiev Center for Cultural Development and Folk Art in Elista.

On October 9, a meeting dedicated to the 140th anniversary of Nomto Ochirov will be held at the N. D. Sanjiev Center for Cultural Development and Folk Art in Elista.

Participants will be told about the researcher and his contribution to the preservation of Kalmyk folklore and the Kalmyk heroic epic "Dzhangar". Dzhangarchi will sing a song about how the violent Hongor defeated the mighty hero Khan Jilgin. This is a chapter from the cycle of songs of the great jangarchi Eelyan Ovla, from whose mouth Nomto Ochirov recorded 10 songs of the epic.

The meeting starts at 18:30.
