In the republic, training began within the framework of the 14th stream of the federal program “Farmer’s School”. This year, the key theme of the course was agrotourism. The educational process was organized at the site of the regional institute of retraining of agricultural personnel with the assistance of the relevant ministry and Rosselkhozbank.
40 people applied for participation in the program, but 30 students began to study as a result of the selection. Among them are both experienced farmers and beginners in business, as well as veterans of the SVO and their relatives.
The program is designed for 2.5 months and includes both lectures and field practical classes. Students will work on creating their own business projects, master the intricacies of the economy of agrotourism and learn from the experience of successful farms. The format of training is mixed (full-time distance).
It should be noted that Karelia has been participating in the project for the third year in a row. The introduction of the specialization “Agrotourism” became an urgent response to the emergence of new state support measures in the region, in particular, grants for the development of rural tourism. Graduates of the Farmer’s School will now be able to prepare their business plans, taking into account the possibility of obtaining public funding.
