In Kazan began the conservation of city fountains for the winter
In Kazan started the planned preparation of hydraulic structures for the winter season

In Kazan, the planned preparation of hydraulic structures for the winter season began. The first to prepare for the cold were fountains on Soviet Square, in Derbyshki and Belinsky Square. By October 28, experts plan to complete conservation at 32 sites throughout the city.
The conservation process includes several consecutive stages. At the first stage, specialists wash the bowls with powerful jets of water, as well as clean the filter elements and pumps. Next, the remaining liquid is completely pumped out of the hydraulic system, blowing communications with air. This is a mandatory procedure: if you leave the water inside, at negative temperatures it will expand and destroy the pipes, which will lead to the breakdown of expensive units.
After the completion of the preparatory stage, the pumps are removed and taken to storage before the onset of spring heat. The bowls themselves are covered with durable sheets of plywood, and at some points reinforced protective shelters are mounted. In the city Committee of external improvement specified that with the onset of heat units will return to the place and test. Identified shortcomings will be promptly eliminated as part of the ongoing repair.
Special attention is paid to capital facilities. So, for the winter, special boxes of wood protect the fountains in the Tinchurin Park and the Wings of the Soviets Park. Such precautions protect decorative elements and equipment from the destructive effects of precipitation and frequent temperature swings in the winter months.
In addition to standard conservation measures, equipment will be upgraded at three locations in the capital of Tatarstan. The new pumps will be mounted on the Boulevard "White Flowers", in the Gorkinsky-Ometyevsky forest, as well as in Yudino - on the site near the railway station.
