In the Kostroma region "garage amnesty" used 3,500 people

Residents of Kostroma have the opportunity to register property rights to land plots free of charge in accordance with the “garage amnesty”. The simplified procedure for registration of rights to individual garages and plots under them will last until September 1, 2031.

According to the Department of Property and Land Relations, during the period of the “garage amnesty” the right to real estate was issued by 3,701 citizens. For the first nine months of this year, Kostromiki registered 856 land plots under garages and 161 garage boxes for free.

To obtain land ownership, you should contact the Department of Property and Land Relations at the address: Constitution Square, 2, Cabinet 415. Reception is conducted on Tuesday from 09:00 to 12:00 and on Thursday from 14:00 to 17:00. You must have documents confirming the ownership of the garage.

If the plot under the garage is not formed, before the registration procedure, you need to contact a cadastral engineer. He is obliged to prepare a scheme for the location of the land plot on the cadastral plan of the territory.

If the garage is located on a plot granted on the right of lifetime inheritable ownership, a citizen can register it directly through Rosreestr. To do this, it is necessary to submit an application to the department on re-registration of ownership of the relevant land plot.
