In 2027, the Kostroma region plans to allocate another 120 million rubles for the renewal of cultural institutions. The funds will come within the framework of the presidential national project “Family”. They will repair the city cultural center in Sharya, the district cultural and leisure center in Ponazyrev and the culture house “Selishche” in Kostroma. In addition, funding was approved for the modernization of children's art schools in Sharya and Manturov.
The regional authorities note that the work is aimed at ensuring that modern conditions for classes and events were available not only in large cities, but also in small settlements. Over the past five years, about 300 cultural institutions have been built, repaired and equipped with modern equipment in the region. In 2026, a new center "Maysky" was opened in Kostroma, and the construction of a culture house was completed in the village of Kuznetsov.
Now the overhaul continues in the Nikolo-Shang and Korezh houses of culture. Work is carried out respectively in Sharya and Bui districts. According to regional authorities, the Kostroma region is among the top six subjects of Russia in terms of cultural institutions.
