Specialists of the regional Rospotrebnadzor continue weekly monitoring of the epidemiological situation for influenza and acute respiratory viral infections in the Kursk region. Laboratory tracking of circulating strains is also being conducted.
The incidence of SARS at the moment corresponds to the usual seasonal indicators. From October 19 to 25, 5,171 residents of the region needed medical care, the Rospotrebnadzor department said.
Special attention is paid to the age structure of patients. Thus, the proportion of minors among all reported cases was 60 per cent.
Laboratory studies of samples from patients show that now among the population of the region are actively circulating pathogens of non-influenza nature. In particular, rhinovirus and adenovirus infections, as well as parainfluenza viruses, are recorded.
