In Kuzbass, the patient was rescued by turning off her breath for a few seconds
Kuzbass oncologists performed a unique operation on the trachea and saved the life of a 65-year-old woman

The woman started choking. Doctors dispensary named after M.S. Rappoport found out: in the lower part of the trachea grew a tumor that blocked the lumen by two-thirds. Breathing got worse every day.
It was necessary to remove the affected area and connect the trachea with two bronchi, preserving the patency of the respiratory tract. An operation of this level in Kuzbass was performed for the first time - it was conducted by the brigade of the thoracic department No. 1 under the leadership of Alexander Miklin.
Anesthesiologists used separate intubation of the left bronchus with temporary apnea: breathing was stopped for a few seconds - this is how you need to act in such cases.
“The surgeons completely removed the tumor and restored the integrity of the respiratory tract,” said Andrey Tarasov.
The result is impressive: the next day the patient began to get up and walk, after 12 days she was discharged. No further treatment is required and she feels satisfactory.
