In the apartment of a Minsk man found hashish – last year he was convicted for drug trafficking

The measure of restraint in the form of detention was sanctioned against a 29-year-old previously convicted citizen who is accused of illegal trafficking of prohibited substances without the purpose of marketing, the Frunze district prosecutor’s office told the correspondent of the Minsk-Novosti news agency.

On suspicion of involvement in drug trafficking, a Minsk citizen was detained. Searching the apartment on the street. Skripnikova, where the man lived, drug control operatives found a package with 1.67 g of hashish.

According to the detainee, earlier for personal use, he purchased 20 g of the drug, but did not have time to smoke all. Another criminal case was opened against the Minsk citizen.

- The accused is single, has no children, is employed by a courier in the delivery service. In August 2025, he was convicted of committing a similar crime to three years of restriction of freedom without being sent to an open-type correctional institution, but he did not draw proper conclusions and did not stand on the path of correction, said Andrei Serbun, deputy prosecutor of the Frunze district. He was charged with illegal acquisition and possession of narcotic drugs without the purpose of marketing, that is, committing a crime under Part 1 of Art. 328 of the Criminal Code. The citizen fully admitted his guilt. A preventive measure in the form of remand in custody has been sanctioned against him.
