More than 43.5 thousand children of the Gomel region recovered in the camps this summer. This was announced by the head of the representative office of the Gomel regional department of the Republican Center for Health Improvement and Sanatorium-Resort Treatment of the Population Vasily Zubets, BelTA reports.
There were 1,191 camps in the area in the summer.
“Including 10 fixed camps, 84 tent camps and 1,097 day camps for children. Over the summer, 43,515 children recovered, said Vasily Zubets.
He specified: 7096 children spent time in stationary camps with benefit and interest, 3,033 in tent camps, 33,386 in day camps.
Over the summer, 1,508 orphans and 1,359 disabled children rested and recovered in the camps.
“With the assistance of the Committee on Labor, Employment and Social Protection of the Gomel Regional Executive Committee, jobs were created for students in various types of paid activities. There were 298 work and rest camps for day stay, where 4,453 teenagers worked and rested, Vasily Zubets added.
