In the Lipetsk region collect living evidence of folk culture

The team of JSCST together with the staff of the Center for Culture and Leisure of the Dankivsky District went to the village of Shcheglovka to record local folklore traditions. The expedition was dedicated to something that rarely gets into official records, but is passed down from generation to generation.

During the work, the participants collected stories and memories, got acquainted with local rituals, recorded chaptushki and ancient recipes. The materials also included popular conspiracies, part of the oral heritage reflecting the beliefs and customs of the inhabitants.

Such expeditions help to preserve not only the texts themselves, but also information about the traditions, life and cultural life of different settlements. The materials collected in Shcheglovka will become the basis for further research and will replenish the archive of regional folklore.
