In Mari El medical examination revealed 233 cases of oncology

This is 15 more cases than in the same period last year. A positive trend is that almost 42% of tumors are found in the first or second stage. This means that 97 patients have a high chance of a full recovery thanks to early diagnosis, which is actively supported by the national project “Long and active life”.

In addition to oncology, screening allowed to fix more than 2,000 pathologies of the cardiovascular system, 763 diseases of the digestive system, 490 cases of diabetes and 186 diseases of the respiratory tract. Special attention is paid to women's health: mammography helped identify 2,279 disorders. At the same time, doctors express their bewilderment about more than three dozen patients who voluntarily refused this important procedure.

In just eight months of 2026, surveys helped to detect more than 536,000 risk factors for chronic diseases, according to the Republican Ministry of Health. The leader among them was poor nutrition (almost a third of cases), followed by low physical activity (25%), high cholesterol (15%), overweight (10%) and obesity (8%).
