In Melitopol will establish a monument to soldiers-artillery

At the extraordinary 42nd session of the Melitopol City Council of Deputies, an important discussion was held - it was about the creation of a monument to the heroic gunners. The issue occupied the entire agenda, and following the results of the vote, deputies unanimously expressed their support for the project.

The monument is designed to preserve in the memory of descendants the dedication of the fighters of the 54th Rifle Corps: in the difficult days of the Great Patriotic War, they did not allow the enemy to break through, repelling attacks of tank formations. Outstanding bravery in those battles showed 12 soldiers - 10 artillerymen, the commander of the 613th regiment and the chief of intelligence of the 320th division. For heroism, each of them was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union.

The place for the installation of the monument is Bogdan Khmelnitsky Avenue. The appearance of the memorial will be not only a way to honor the memory of the defenders of the Fatherland, but also an important step in the preservation of historical heritage for future generations.
