The Ministry of Education of Karelia decided on the schedule of school holidays for the 2026/2027 academic year

The educational process in Russian schools started on September 1, 2026, and the end of the academic year is scheduled no earlier than May 26, 2027.

The Federal Agency announced the recommended dates for the rest of students for the entire academic period:

As the head of the republican Ministry of Education Natalia Karmazina emphasized, despite the status of “recommendations”, it is important for the regional authorities that all educational institutions adhere to a single schedule. In her opinion, this is optimal for several reasons: firstly, it is convenient for parents whose children attend different schools; secondly, on vacation days, teachers can safely improve their skills at conferences and seminars; thirdly, it streamlines the entire education system.

The minister clarified that this schedule is designed for schools with a fourth system. However, for educational institutions working in trimesters, these dates also remain a baseline.

The regional ministry emphasizes that following a single schedule allows maintaining the stability and integrity of the educational environment in the country.
