Representatives of the Partizansky district of Minsk congratulated Lidia Kondratievna Volkova on her 102nd anniversary. The veteran passed the front roads of the Great Patriotic War, and after the Victory she devoted herself to medicine, writes sb.by.

With flowers, gifts and warm wishes, representatives of the district administration, the deputy corps, the veteran organization and the Belarusian Union of Women came to the birthday girl. The guests thanked Lydia Kondratyevna for courage, perseverance and many years of work, wished good health and well-being.

Lidia Volkova was born on October 10, 1924. During the Great Patriotic War she served as a nurse in the active army, participated in combat operations on several fronts, including Stalingrad. I won in Berlin. For military merits, she was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War II degree, medals "For Military Merit", "For the Defense of Stalingrad", "For the Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945" and other awards.

After the war, Lidia Kondratyevna continued to work in medicine. After moving to Belarus, she graduated from a medical institute and worked as a pediatrician for many years.

During the meeting, the anniversary girl thanked the guests for their attention and admitted that she especially appreciates the opportunity to communicate with people.

- The biggest thing is communicating with people. When a person is left alone, he becomes sad, it seems that no one needs you anymore. “While you are working, be happy and enjoy every day and your work,” she said.

Lydia Kondratyevna also shared her thoughts on what helps a person become good. According to her, a lot depends on family, society, work and communication with others.

According to the chairman of the Partizan district organization of the public association “Belarusian Union of Women” Svetlana Petrova, care for veterans is carried out on an ongoing basis. The primary organizations of the district are assigned to them, representatives of the youth wing visit the elderly, invite them to meetings and conduct patriotic events.

On the day of the 102nd anniversary of Lydia Volkova, guests thanked her for her life path. Such meetings help to preserve the bond of generations and remind of the importance of attention and care for those who survived the war and dedicated their lives to serving people.
