In Minsk, a student was waiting for a letter of admission to the hostel, but came across scammers

Criminal investigation operatives of the Frunze police department detained an 18-year-old student of the capital university, whom the fraudsters used as a courier. This was reported in the press service of the Mingory Executive Committee, writes sb.by.

Reportedly, it all began with a call from the alleged employee of the post office: he said that in the name of the young man came the post. To get it, the caller asked for an email address. The young man did not suspect deception - he was just waiting for a letter of enrollment in a student dormitory.

Then in the messenger he received a message that his personal data was seized by fraudsters, and he will soon be contacted by KGB officers. After some time, a video call was received from a “law enforcement officer”, who stated that the criminals issued a loan in the name of the student, and the money was transferred to criminal accounts. To avoid responsibility, the young man was asked to “cooperate.”.

According to the instructions of the scammers, the guy met with a pensioner, took a package with м 30,000 from him and went to a neighboring state, where he transferred the money to an electronic wallet. Upon his return to Minsk, he was detained by operatives.
