The ark with a particle of the relics of St. Matrona of Moscow was delivered to the Cathedral of the Transfiguration of the Lord in Mogilev – here the shrine will remain until October 15. Belta reports.

Already on the first day to venerate the shrine in the cathedral came a large number of parishioners.

“And that is very good. When we pray to the Lord, we pray to the Lord. The saints served God all their lives and served zealously. After death, the grace of the Holy Spirit dwells in their holy relics, said Priest Andrei Shavarin, cleric of the cathedral of the Transfiguration of the Lord in the city of Mogilev.

According to him, in prayer before the holy relics, people unite in the church veneration of the shrine, and conciliarity is important for the Church.

“By uniting in prayer before the saints, we receive additional help from God and the saints. It's actually important, pious. When we stand before the shrines, we are worthy of their protection and help before the throne of the Most High, said Priest Andrei Shavarin.

“Praying before the holy relics, we first of all ask for the salvation of the soul,” he said. No earthly benefits, for example, studying at an institute, even health or relationships with loved ones, can become on the same level with the salvation of the soul. For a man who seeks unity with God in the kingdom of heaven is worthy of all these things.

Priest Andrew Shavarin recalled the words of the Lord, which are given in Holy Scripture, that first of all it is necessary to seek the Kingdom of God, and all earthly things will be added. Coming to the relics of the saints, and in this case the relics of the blessed Matrona of Moscow, we must first of all ask her for the salvation of our immortal souls. For we all, rich and poor, come here temporarily, and there we go forever. In this world one should prepare for life with God, with the saints in the Kingdom of God, the priest said.

After the Cathedral of the Transfiguration of the Lord of the city of Mogilev, the ark with a particle of the relics of the Holy Blessed Matrona of Moscow will continue to stay on the territory of the Mogilev diocese. From 14:00 on October 15 to 12:00 on October 16, the shrine will be in the church of Blessed Matrona of the Moscow agrotown Prisno. From 13:00 on October 16 to 14:00 on October 19 - St. Nicholas convent of the city of Mogilev, and from 9:00 on October 20 to 13:00 on October 21 - in the temple of the icon of the Mother of God "Contester of breads" of the city of Gorki. On October 22, the shrine will be brought to Brest.

Holy Blessed Matrona of Moscow is one of the most revered Russian saints. Every day, thousands of believers flock to the Pokrovsky monastery of Moscow, where her relics reside, to attach themselves to the shrine and ask for blessed help and intercession before the Lord, and through the prayers of the saint many receive what they ask from the Lord.
