In Moscow on October 14, the Sistema Gallery will open an exhibition “Infrastructure of Waiting”, dedicated to the Soviet modernism of Elbrus. The organizers note that Elbrus is associated not only with mountaineering and skiing, but also with scientific discoveries and engineering projects.
Central to the exposition will be the neutrino particle as a metaphor for the pursuit of knowledge and peaks. The curators said that in Soviet times, scientific stations, observatories and hotels were created in Elbrus, and architects of the “thaw” period were looking for a new expressive language.
The project is supported by the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia and the Institute of Nuclear Research of the Russian Academy of Sciences. In November, the exhibition will move to Nalchik, in December it will be seen on Elbrus.
Earlier it was reported that Nalchik will host a scientific and educational project of the Russian Academy of Arts “Caucasus: the attraction of the future”.
