About the rules of safe behavior on the roads in heavy rains and strong wind recalled in the Ministry of internal Affairs. This is reported by sb.by with reference to the press service of the department.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs noted that on a wet road the braking distance increases significantly, there is a danger of aquaplaning and drifts:
“It is important for drivers to choose the safest speed, distance and lateral spacing. Do not allow sharp maneuvers, do not be distracted during movement, especially when passing pedestrian crossings and intersections, rounding roads. You should also buckle yourself and ensure the safe transportation of passengers, especially children. Keep in mind that wet fallen foliage on the roadway reduces the coefficient of adhesion of wheels with the road. When leaving for open areas, hold the steering wheel firmly with both hands, be prepared for sudden lateral gusts of wind.”.
In bad weather, pedestrians should wear high-visibility clothing, and in the dark be sure to designate themselves with reflective elements. When crossing the carriageway, you need to look around and start the transition only after making sure that drivers notice you and have time to stop.
Weekend weather in Belarus: rains, strong wind and from +4 °C to +19 °C
