In Grodno region detained for corruption Deputy Director of the branch of the fuel and energy industry

Operatives in the fight against economic crimes of the Department of Internal Affairs of the Grodno Regional Executive Committee revealed facts of systemic business corruption. This was reported by sb.by in the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus.

It was established that the 60-year-old deputy director of the branch of the enterprise regularly received bribes from a representative of a commercial structure. The rewards were intended for lobbying the contractor to carry out the repair work. The official was detained with the force support of riot police at the time of receiving the next tranche.

From the beginning of 2024 to the present time, the defendant illegally enriched himself in the amount of more than 70 thousand rubles.

Investigators opened a criminal case for bribery on an especially large scale. The man faces up to 15 years in prison.
