In MZHKH told how to provide water in case of power outages in the autumn-winter period
How water supply systems work during power outages, said the head of the Department of Public Utilities and Energy of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation.

How water supply systems work during power outages, said the head of the Department of Public Utilities and Energy of the Ministry of Housing and Utilities Alexei Filanovich. Belta writes about it.

On the eve of the heating season, a complex of preventive and repair works are carried out at water supply and sanitation facilities aimed at ensuring their trouble-free and sustainable operation, said Alexey Filanovich.
“In the autumn-winter period, no one is immune from short-term power outages due to a number of natural factors. When restoring power supply, first of all, the uninterrupted operation of objects of the first and second categories of reliability is ensured. The number of points of connection to networks is also taken into account, the head of the department explained.
A key element of the insurance is the park of autonomous energy sources. In recent years, utilities have purchased more than 1,000 generators of various capacities. “This equipment is on the balance sheet of enterprises, its locations have been identified, and specific water and sewerage facilities have been assigned to each generator. This allows emergency recovery teams to deliver a mobile power source as soon as possible and resume water supply, said Alexey Filanovich.
He said that such backup equipment is in every district center. The park of generators is selected taking into account the scale of objects: from small portable installations to large trailer stations.
“In the case of a small rural community, a conventional portable generator is sufficient to operate a water tower or pump, and the entire village will be provided with water. If we talk about large cities, then several large energy sources are needed for insurance, he concluded.
