In the Nenets Autonomous District celebrated the 85th anniversary of the public organization “Union of women of Russia”. The Palace of Culture "Arctic" hosted a solemn event dedicated to the anniversary date.

On behalf of the Assembly of Deputies of Women of the Regional Branch, Vice-Speaker of the District Parliament Yevgeny Shestakov congratulated.

Throughout its history, from the Anti-Fascist Committee of Soviet Women to the Union of Women of Russia, your organization has remained faithful to the lofty ideals of peace, goodness and justice. During the Great Patriotic War, women became the voice of truth, the force uniting people for the sake of victory. These priorities are the basis of your activities today, said Yevgeny Shestakov.

Also during the event for active public activity and significant personal contribution to the successful implementation of the project "Warm summer in the Arctic" in 2026 district awards were awarded to deputies Natalia Kardakova and Galina Durkina.

Today, the Union of Women of Russia has regional offices across the country and about 25 thousand women's councils. The organization unites about 1 million people.
