The Nenets Central Library named after Alexei Pichkov hosted an event dedicated to the work of the famous writer. It was held within the framework of the Faculty of Literature of the University for High Age People.
Opening the class, leading librarian Sophia Manzadei noted:
- I don’t think there’s any other writer who has said so much about himself in his books. All his life he turned into stories for small stories. But it is absolutely impossible to understand where the truth is and where the fiction is - so Sergey Dovlatov confused the tracks.
The future writer was born on September 3, 1941 in Ufa, where his parents were in the evacuation. His father, Donat Mechik, was a director and playwright, and his mother, Nora Dovlatova, was an actress. The parents divorced in the early childhood of Sergei, and the mother gave her son her surname - Dovlatov.
