The Novgorod Museum-Reserve will host the XII Scientific Conference “Novgorod and Novgorod Land: Art and Restoration” from October 14 to 16. The three-day program includes more than 30 reports from historians, art historians and restorers, the press service of the Novgorod Museum-Reserve reported.

The Novgorod Museum-Reserve will host the XII Scientific Conference “Novgorod and Novgorod Land: Art and Restoration” from October 14 to 16. The three-day program includes more than 30 reports from historians, art historians and restorers, the press service of the Novgorod Museum-Reserve reported.
Participants will discuss architecture, monumental painting, icon painting and decorative and applied art, share the results of fresh research, talk about the paintings of the Bishop’s Chamber and frescoes of the Church of the Savior on Nereditsa, and present the experience of restoring unusual objects. Among them are ceramic vessels, braided birch bark.
Modern restoration approaches will occupy an important place in the discussions. Special attention will be paid to technologies that help preserve fragile monuments.
