In the Novosibirsk region decreased the number of cows and pigs
By the end of August 2026 in the Novosibirsk region decreased the number of main species of farm animals.
cattle shedness amounted to 301.8 thousand heads, which is 11.9% less than a year earlier. The number of cows decreased by 12.7%. Pigs decreased by 12.6% - to 303.3 thousand heads, sheep and goats - by 14.4%, to 114 thousand.
Growth was recorded only for birds. Its livestock increased by 1.8% and reached 9.5 million heads.
At the same time, the productivity of farm animals decreased. In January-August, the average yield per cow was 128 kilograms less than last year, and one laying chicken on average gave 20 eggs less.
Earlier, “MK in Novosibirsk” reported that in July in the region there were 128 thousand cows, while over the year their livestock decreased by 12.1%.
