In the Olonets district, pedestrians were urged to “light up” for safety

Employees of the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Olonets district as part of the preventive measure “Pedestrian Safety” conducted raids at educational institutions aimed at improving the safety of children and adults in the dark. The action was joined by detachments of young traffic inspectors (YID) and representatives of parental control.

The inspectors focused on checking the presence of retroreflective elements in pedestrians. It was noted that such elements significantly increased human visibility on the road in low visibility, which in turn significantly reduced the risk of road accidents.

Participants in the raids, who lacked reflectors, police officers and young inspectors were given special key fobs.

The traffic police once again reminds: the use of reflective elements is a simple, but very effective way to protect yourself and your children on the road, especially in the dark. The Department urges everyone to be attentive and take care of their lives.
