In Omsk started accepting candidates for the post of head of the city

The procedure began on October 14, 2026 and will last until November 17. Political parties represented in the State Duma and the Legislative Assembly of the Omsk region, as well as a number of public associations, including the Association of Councils of Municipalities of the region, the Regional Public Chamber and the All-Russian Association for the Development of Local Self-Government, are entitled to nominate candidates.

At the same time, there is a restriction: each subject can nominate no more than two candidates, and the total number of nominees should not exceed ten people. All received documents will be considered in the office of the Governor and the government of the region. After checking the information, the head of the region will send at least two candidates to the Omsk City Council for consideration.

Recall that the current mayor of Omsk Sergey Shelest leads the city from January 12, 2022.
