The historical and patriotic kaleidoscope “Let your courage be an example for us” (6+) was held in Orel. The event was held in the walls of the Public Support Headquarters, it was dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the beginning of the occupation of the city. It was held by the staff of the Youth Model Library "25 Quarter" for students of the eighth grade.
So, librarians read out the eyewitness memoirs collected in the book Children of War Talk. These testimonies helped students see the war through the eyes of those who survived it as children. A special place in the program was occupied by the story of the Russian hospital - one of the symbols of courage and mercy in the occupied Orel. The children learned how in the most difficult conditions medical workers saved lives, helped the wounded and supported people. There was also a conversation about the feat of Oryol underground workers. Librarians told of people who risked their lives gathering intelligence, distributing leaflets, helping prisoners of war and disrupting enemy plans.
