In the Orel region opened a memorial sign in honor of Uncle Ivan Turgenev. It was installed on the place where the estate of a relative of the writer was located. This is Yushkovo village of Shablykin district.

According to the network edition “Vesti-Orel”, a memorial sign opened in Orel region, so far the first and only in Russia. Natalia Chaurskaya, the granddaughter of Nikolai Turgenev, came to the opening ceremony. She lives in Milan. She brought with her an interesting relic, a family photograph taken in 1903. Everyone could see the picture.

"MK in Orel" reminds that Nikolai Turgenev closely communicated with his nephew and did a lot for his development. The writer often visited the estate of his uncle. Nikolai Turgenev participated in the Patriotic War of 1812, including the Battle of Borodino, as well as in the capture of Paris.
