The Ministry for the Protection of Monuments of History and Culture of the Penza region approved the boundaries and procedure for using the territory of the archaeological heritage object of federal significance “The Shaft, built in 1666”. The monument is located in Penza on Kirov Street. The corresponding order is published on the official website of the department in the "Important" section.

This object is a surviving part of the city fortifications of the fortress of Penza, built in 1663. The height of the shaft reaches three meters, and the width is five. The monument has been under state protection since 1960: it was registered by the resolution of the Council of Ministers of the RSFSR of August 30, 1960 No. 1327.

Approval of borders and regime of use of the territory is a key condition for state protection and preservation of cultural heritage objects. This allows you to protect the monument from destruction and prevent economic activities that could harm it.
