In the suburbs for the second time celebrated the Day of a large family
October 11 in all 56 municipalities of the Moscow region held the Day of large families — a holiday established by the Moscow Duma last year

October 11 in all 56 municipalities of the Moscow region was the Day of large families – a holiday established by the Moscow Duma last year. The date was not chosen by chance: it is timed to the day of memory of the righteous Cyril and Mary, the parents of St. Sergius of Radonezh, whose relics rest in the Pokrovsky Cathedral in Khotkov.
According to the region, more than 114,000 large families live in the Moscow region, in which about 369,000 children are brought up. Governor Andrey Vorobyov congratulated the families on the holiday and recalled support measures: benefits for school meals and travel, payments, assistance with rest and recovery, as well as targeted assistance in household issues.
Among those who are proud of the region are the family of Vladimir and Marina Churakov from Lobni. They are raising eleven children. In 2023, the couple was awarded the Federal Order of Parental Glory. Marina Churakova was also awarded the sign “Mother’s Glory” and the Order of St. Sergius of Radonezh.
The family pays special attention to sports and an active lifestyle. Parents from an early age instill in their children a love of physical activity. Vladimir Alekseevich more than 20 years worked as a rescuer-diver, now engaged in search work to perpetuate the memory of soldiers of the Great Patriotic War.
In August 2026, the Churakovs celebrated a silver wedding – 25 years of life together. The head of Lobni Anna Krotova then presented them with a medal “For love and loyalty”.
